Dr. Sheeja Francis specializes in an integrated approach to the practice of Rheumatology considering the whole individual and applying a personalized strategy that is unique to each patient. She is board certified in Rheumatology and specializes in state-of-the-art management of rheumatologic autoimmune diseases. Dr. Francis practices at Premier Medical Group of the Hudson Valley in New Windsor, NY.

With an integrated approach, Dr. Francis focuses on formulating an evidence-based approach to management of rheumatologic disorders that combine pharmacological, complementary and lifestyle aspects.

Prior to moving to NY in 2015, Dr. Francis was a faculty member at University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she was involved in clinical research focused on systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and inflammatory arthritis.
​
While at Michigan, Dr. Francis was part of the Faculty Scholar Program in Integrative Medicine where she took the first steps in learning to combine complementary approaches with traditional allopathic medicine. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Integrative Medicine from The University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. While at University of Michigan, this growing interest lead to Dr. Francis providing consultations as an Integrative Rheumatologist for patients who were interested in exploring complementary and alternative approaches to treatment of rheumatologic disorders in combination with ongoing conventional pharmacological treatments.

At her current practice in New Windsor, New York, Dr. Francis focuses on personalized care for each one of her patients, carefully combining traditional allopathic as well as complementary approaches to provide quality integrated rheumatologic care.

​Dr. Francis is an American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certified rheumatologist. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the American Medical Association.
